Development Assistant (AmeriCorps Vista Role) 

Salary: $27,000
Oversee the administrative and public relations aspects of fundraising for our team. In this role, it’s your responsibility to manage a database documenting fundraising efforts, create reports on various donors, and work to improve donor relations. Our ideal candidate has experience attracting support for an organization and improving fundraising efforts. While we prefer candidates with a degree, we are willing to onboard the right person as long as they have the relevant skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

Duties and Responsibilities
Improve donor relations by fulfilling essential administrative and PR duties
Produce reports on individual and institutional donors
Perform data entry and help track donations in a database
Complete calendaring tasks
Perform research to discover market trends and procurement opportunities

Requirements and Qualifications
Mission-driven individual, passionate about equity and justice in St. Louis
Associate or bachelor’s degree (highly preferred)
Experience in fundraising and securing donors for an organization or nonprofit group
Teamwork, time-management, and organizational skills
Computer proficiency, including knowledge of Outlook and database software

Communications Associate (AmeriCorps Vista Role)

Salary: $27,000
Develops content (graphic design, photography, & video), does research, and manages social media, traditional media, blog, and email marketing to consistently articulate A Red Circle’s mission, key messaging, and program. In addition, this position works collaboratively with programming teams to ensure consistency across channels, including websites, online profiles, and other special projects.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Write, edit, and produce communications in print and digital formats.
- Collaborate with the team to gather content and impact data. Contribute to ongoing efforts to    centralize, streamline, and refine communications efforts.
- Write, edit, and produce internal communications.
- Update and maintain print, web, and email design templates.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications
- Mission-driven individual, passionate about equity and justice in St. Louis
- Associate or bachelor’s degree (highly preferred)
- Demonstrated creativity in writing and communications strategy.
- Outstanding organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy.

Grocery Manager (Full-Time)

Salary: $50,000/year
Plan and help develop our community-based grocery store, People’s Harvest, in North County. For the first few months after hiring, the Grocery Store Manager will have the opportunity to help get People’s Harvest off the ground by planning the store’s operations in advance of the grand opening. Once the store is up and running, the Grocery Store Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the store. We are looking to push the traditional model of what a grocery store can be and how it relates to community, and we welcome any candidates excited by that project.

Duties and Responsibilities

General Management  

Supervise the day-to-day operations: oversees staffing, product purchasing, merchandising, and maintains proper stock levels through appropriate product ordering
Takes pride in performance of the team to provide outstanding level of service for the customer including the quality and freshness of products
Ensure sufficient profit with a long-term focus on the store’s sustainable financial health so that it will provide dependable value to the community.

Personnel  
Builds a strong, growth-oriented store culture based on kindness and community
Aid in the hiring of store personnel by reviewing resumes and employment applications, as well as interviewing candidates
Supervise and provide performance feedback to facilitate individual growth
Act with a high level of emotional intelligence in customer service and regarding internal concerns with employees

Community-Facing Leader
Understand the overarching mission, as well as communicate and model the core values of the organization
Promote and support strong relationships with local community organizations in store’s surrounding area
Ensure store compliance with and appropriate knowledge of federal, state, and local laws/enterprise policies

Requirements and Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Business (highly preferred)
Deep knowledge of grocery store operations, including managing employees and grocery store supply chains 
Ideally at least 4 years of grocery store experience, including 2+ years supervising employees and with general management responsibilities 
 
High level of comfort with computers: able to effectively use Microsoft Office & Google Suite, POS software, and financial software 
Willingness to spend time where the operation needs it including early mornings, evenings and weekends. 
Excellent interpersonal skills and comfort working with diverse backgrounds.  
Entrepreneurial and problem-solving mindset: comfortable with ambiguity, change and growth in a start-up environment, willingness to challenge the status quo

Food & Farm Associate (Full-Time)

Salary: $45,000/year
A Red Circle’s food and farm team works to dismantle systemic racism at its roots to increase healthy food access in North County. The Food and Farm Associate will work closely with our Food and Farm Manager and oversee implementation and day-to-day operation of A Red Circle’s new farmer tool share program. The Food and Farm Associate will also participate in all stages of agriculture production at .5-acre farm site from seedling to distribution.

Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct all daily operational tasks for tool share administration, transport and maintenance
Assist Food & Farm Manager in design and implementation of community-focused agriculture education programming
Schedule and host meetings with individual farmers and community outreach events
Coordinate, manage and perform grant-related activities concerning project implementation and reporting
Support Food & Farm Manager with agricultural production at .5-acre farm site in Pine Lawn, MO (including but not limited to planning, planting, maintenance, harvest and processing specialty crops, equipment operation and maintenance, community and farmer outreach, and general organizational support)

Requirements and Qualifications
One year sustainable vegetable growing
One year public speaking or teaching diverse audiences at various skill levels
One year program administration or development
Mission-driven, self-managed, detail-oriented, determined, patient, dependable and enthusiastic
Demonstrated ability to communicate personably
Ability to perform physical labor daily (squat, lift and carry over 50lbs at least 200ft repetitively on uneven terrain), and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Ability to safely operate and maintenance farm equipment, farm irrigation and infrastructure
Ability to ask effective questions, think analytically, locate critical information and report on findings
Effectively prioritizes and executes task based on checklists and established organizational goals
Basic computer, communications, and operational knowledge
